Profile and History

MarCoPay Inc.

MarCoPay (MCP) was incorporated on July 12, 2019 in Manila, Republic of the Philippines.
The company was able to obtain its Electric Money Issuer license with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on December 10, 2019.

MarCoPay stands for “Maritime Community Pay.”
It is a digital platform with e-money designed mainly for seafarers and their family to support their better quality of life.

Boasting of its investment in research and technology, the company has secured features and functions
which aims to promote the innovation of onboard money transactions with digital solutions
and improvement of quality of life of seafarers and their families.

Toshiaki Fujioka

President and Director, Chief Executive Officer
Toshiaki Fujioka serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of MarCoPay, Inc. Prior to his appointment, he has worked in NYK Line for 19 years heading various departments and companies of the group in Japan and Europe.

Areson Cuevas

Vice President and Director, Chief Operating Officer
Areson Cuevas serves as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MarCoPay Inc. Prior to his appointment, he has worked in TDG for 5 years doing business development for the group. He also previously worked at the Philippine Stock Exchange doing IPO and capital-raising activities.

Motoyuki Masaki

Director, Chief Technology Officer
Motoyuki "Mickey" Masaki serves as the Chief Technology Officer of MarCoPay Inc. Prior to his appointment, he has worked for NYK Group for 37 years overseeing its Information System Development and Operations in the US, UK, and Europe.

Ryota Takenaka

Chief Sales Offcer
Ryota Takenaka serves as the Chief Sales Officer of MarCoPay, Inc. Prior to his appointment, he has worked in NYK Line for 15 years mainly heading different departments in sales and operation in Singapore and Japan.

Joanne Lazareto

Treasurer, Chief Finance Officer
Joanne Lazareto serves as the Treasurer and Chief Finance Officer of MarCoPay Inc. Prior to her appointment, she has worked at TDG for 15 years heading the accounting and finance department of the group's Ship Management division.

Daisuke So

Chief Compliance Officer
Daisuke So serves as the Chief Compliance Officer of MarCoPay Inc. Prior to his appointment, he has worked in NYK Line for 5 years working in bulk carrier operations and fleet management.

Nippon Yusen is Japanese shipping company and is a member of the Mitsubishi keiretsu. The company has its headquarters in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan and a fleet of about 800 ships, that includes container ships, tankers, bulk and woodchip carriers, Ro-Ro car carriers, reefer vessels, LNG carrier and cruise ships.
